Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown

b April 18, 1924 - Vinton, LA d September 10, 2005 - Orange, TX

1982 Grammy Award for Blues Album-"Alright Again!"

Handy Blues Award Winner in 2006, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999,
1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1992, 1991, 1984, & 1982.

According to Gatemouth, he played American Music, Texas Style. A gifted musician, he performed for 60+ years playing blues, cajun, country, jazz, and calypso. He was an accomplished player of the piano, guitar, fiddle, viola, drums, mandolin, and harmonica. In the 1960's, Gatemouth even hosted a TV show out of Nashville, TN.
